Kirkland Diapers vs Huggies Diapers Kirkland vs Huggies diapers: How come the brand of the Costco store, one of the biggest wholesale stores, stacks up to an enormously popular name brand? We will go through the key differences and similarities for both brands, complete with the tests! This guide will help you understand the differences between Kirkland Signature Supreme and Huggies' diapers. The Kirkland diapers are similar to the Huggies. Both are very absorbent and snugly fit to keep in the mess. But Kirkland diapers don't have a pocket waist, they absorb 30% less, and they accumulate more when they're wet. That said, they work very well for many babies! As Amazon Associate, I can win a small commission of sorting purchases at no additional cost to you. To summarize the ridiculous amount of research and data I have collected after using more than 200 diapers of each brand: Of course, since I am a nerd, this post is full of comparison photos and evidence of the Kirkland vs Huggies diapers for size, fit, absorption, construction, and more. So keep reading if you want the nitty gritty report! Table of Contents Secret Suggestion: Who Does Kirkland diapers? Who Does Huggies Diapers? First, before comparing the two types of diapers, let's start at first, all the way back in the diaper factories. Who makes Kirkland diapers? And who makes Huggies diapers? The answer surprised me! Kimberly Clark manufactures Huggies and Kirkland! () For years, Costco asked Kimberly Clark and Procter and Gamble (who does Pampers) to develop a private label diaper that they could sell under the name of the Kirkland brand. And Kimberly Clark agreed! That's why Costco sells Huggies and not Pampers, because of his deal with Kimberly Clark. Related post: Considering the Pampers instead of Huggies? According to several different websites, the Kirkland diapers are the previous generation of Huggies diapers (, , )! On the front, that tells us that if you're comparing Kirkland diapers with Huggies diapers, they're already quite similar! And you'll soon see that they look almost identical! Reading Costco's diaper reviews, you'll see parents who say Kirkland's diapers are as good as Huggies. And now you know why! The Kirkland Diapers Supreme Stamp vs Huggies Little Snugglers The other thing I'd like to clear up is what the marks we're checking here. I'm comparing Kirkland Signature Supreme's diapers to Huggies Little Snugglers. Those are pretty booby-boo, so I'll just call them Kirkland vs Huggies from here on. Kirkland is the brand of the Costco store. Huggies is a premium diaper brand that is neck and neck with Pampers for brand recognition. Many hospitals use Huggies in newborns. Now that we have some background, in our comparison of Kirkland vs Huggies diapers! Diaper Tabs: Tie – they are almost identical! Tab Sturdiness: Tie I unfastened and refastened the tabs on a Kirkland diaper and Huggies pañper ten times, and both still held well. The area where I opened the diaper seemed a little irritable, but both marks were still well maintained. The material feels the same in both types of tabs. Eyelash fasting power: TieBoth's diapers have what they refer to as "bdoble grip strips" or "shoulds" to help keep diapers on. That means that in addition to the normal Velcro tab as a diaper, they also have a purple area outside the diaper waist to keep tabs in place- see the image below. Side bras don't feel sticky to the touch, but the diaper material sticks very well. This becomes more and more important when your baby is older, it will be more likely to try to remove the diaper or crawl around doing something that might make it come out! Every little thing that helps you stay is a plus! Pattern of diapers " Design: Huggies You might think that the footprints in the diaper do not make the diaper better or worse. But surprisingly, they do it somehow. First, the Kirkland diapers have a bright red circle with the diaper size right in the middle of the back of the waist. When you're changing your baby's diapers, you can see it through the diaper. I always think the diaper leaked or something got into the back of the diaper when I notice it. Second, the Kirkland diapers don't have a size indicator like Huggies diapers. Take a look at the image below- understand when raising a diaper size will prevent leaks, blows, and make your baby more comfortable. As for the impressions, Kirkland Signature Supreme's diapers have bright and fun animal theme impressions, with two different designs in each box. Size 3 diapers have a monkey. The Huggies currently have a more subtle design Winnie the Pooh in blue, red and grey. Related post: Do you want more information about Huggies Diapers? Learn about the differences between! Humidity Indicators: Tie Both Kirkland and Huggies have yellow lines that spin blue to show when there is moisture in the diaper. Both seem to be the same length and thickness, so I give you a note. Feeling outside: TieBoth feels the same, pretty soft! Fit: Huggies are better Both Kirkland and Huggies have a great elastic around their legs and waist, so they fit very well with a wide variety of babies. My baby has very fat legs and I've never had a leg leak with any of these marks. (Related Position: Suffering from diaper leaks and punches? ) Related post: Bulkiness: TieHow does Kirkland vs Huggies compare to voluminity? Unfortunately, both brands tend to loosen between your baby's legs. Personally, I think it makes more room to contain the poop, but they look pretty puppy. Other brands, like Pampers, fit more in the ass. (Read my )Leg Cuffs: TieThe leg wives on both marks are identical. Both are held against your baby's legs! Waistband: Huggies Both diapers have a large elastic waist that keeps the diaper snugly. However, the waist between Kirkland and Huggies are different. Kirkland has elastic that holds the diaper in snugly form. Huggies has the same elastic and it's like a small pocket. He'll catch and prevent diaper shoots from coming up. He'll save you from washing clothes and sheets. For me, having this extra protection of Huggies is worth the very slightly higher price! Best Absorbence: Huggies Now, I've never had a leak because a diaper is too full of pis. But, of course, I wanted to test the absorption of the Kirkland vs Huggies diapers. Therefore, I added some blue water coloring food, and added water to each diaper type, one spoon at a time (a spoonful is about 15 ml). This is not entirely accurate as who knows where your baby is peeing in the diaper, so I'm open to suggestions for a better test if you have ideas! The diaper Kirkland had 63 spoons of water! That's about 4 cups, which are 32 ounces or a quarter gallon! For metric users, that is, 930 ml, or almost a liter of water. It's almost 2 full cups of Solo worth it! Sister Huggies went on! I could add 83 tablespoons, which are 5.25 cups, approximately 42 ounces, or about 1⁄3 of a gallon! Again, for metric users, it is 1474 ml. Huggies' diapers had about 32% more than Kirkland's diapers. That's amazing for me that diapers can contain so much volume! As for dryness, I kicked the diapers with a towel of paper during the whole test. As the diapers were filled, they absorbed the water more slowly, so they were more likely to be a bit wet. But even after 36 tablespoons of water (more than 2 cups), after waiting an hour, the paper towel dried from both types of diapers. That means even if your baby pees a lot during the night and doesn't change them immediately, your skin will stay dry. Dry skin means less diaper rash. So at the end of the day, both diapers have a ton of liquid, which is great! But Huggies has about 32% more. Huggies and Kirkland Diaper Ingredients Huggies are not manufactured using elemental chlorine bleaching, and do not contain latex or fragrances. Kirkland's packaged diapers only mention that they are hypoallergenic and do not contain natural rubber latex. This information was not readily available on the Costco website, but can be read on the back of the box. So, Huggies wins this round. They have a clearer label on their ingredients that are more accessible to parents and their diapers have fewer potentially harmful or irritating chemicals. Where are the Kirkland diapers made? Where are Huggies made? Kimberly Clark makes both Huggies and Kirkland Supreme. Both brands are made in the United States. This information is also available in the diaper packages. To summarize: How are the Kirkland vs Huggies diapers? If the two diaper marks are almost equal, what are the big differences? Now that we know how to compare the properties of Kirkland vs Huggies diapers, let's see what most parents are worried about: the price! Best price: Kirkland Springs for a very narrow margin! But Huggies is worth the slight increase! The price depends on where you buy. Huggies prices vary depending on where you buy them. Check Huggies price by clicking on the links: , , or . Costco even had an agreement that passed while I was writing this article – $ 9 of each Huggies box, plus free shipping if you ordered them online. Making a quick comparison, this was only $1 more for a whole Huggies box when compared to the same Kirkland diaper size box. For me, it's worth the highest price for the pocket on the back to avoid the blows As for Kirkland's diapers, that leads us to... Tip secret! You can buy Kirkland diapers in AmazonYup. I thought I'd have to be a Costco member to buy his diaper mark. Turns out you can buy Kirkland diapers at a Costco store or if you're a member. Or, check the price of Kirkland Diapers! New Kirkland 2020 Diaps: Cost updated your diapers? Costco launched his new Kirkland diapers in early 2020. The new Costco diapers look different from the oldest. However, the changes are completely cosmetic. New Kirkland diapers released in 2020 have more modern patterns and now have size indicators. Conclusions: Kirkland vs Huggies Pañales Personally, I found that Kirkland and Huggies diapers work well for me and my baby. As the Kirkland diapers are a little cheaper, they're my top choice right now! However, Costco is out of my way, so buy Huggies when I'm not able to get to Costco. What experiences have you had with the Kirkland vs Huggies diapers? What other brands would you like to see revised? Related articles: Read about , o , o , o , o . Bonito! A kind of defective Kirkland diaper! I chose a Kirkland diaper and a Huggies diaper to compare the tabs, and I was very confused when I looked at the Kirkland diaper! I actually had two tabs on one side! Looking more carefully, I saw the top tab was sewn on the waist, so I couldn't use it. But Kirkland helped add another tab so there'd be a usable! I actually put this diaper in my baby and had no problem besides it was a little weird for fasting. Do you have any more questions about diapers? Look at my related posts: Read more articles This post has 19 comments I didn't see a date in the article, but a lot of this information seems pretty outdated. Costco diapers have a lot of information now, like no fragrances, etc... and my side-by-side comparison for me only the last two months the Costco seemed to go waaay up. I wonder what things have changed. Hi, Lauren. Thank you for your comment! I initially wrote this post in October. And I see Costco now has a new version of diapers out. I'm planning to order some new ones very soon here and update my post. MegWow! Such a complete comparison, this is much better than I expected to find online! Thanks for being so "nerdy", it has been very useful, as well as a fun reading! Keep up 🙂Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate your comment! Thank you for making the comparison. I'm waiting for your new review. All right, thank you all for your patience! I have updated this post based on my last 3 months using the new Kirkland 2020 diapers! This was so helpful! Thank you! It will definitely give the Kirkland brand a chance! I found Huggies better for my baby. Kirkland's chemical smell is horrible. Huggies don't smell that bad, though I think that inside the gel is the same for both of us. I prefer Huggies. Interesting, thanks for sharing your experience with Kirkland and Huggies! I didn't notice a diaper smell, but my nose may always be plugged in by allergies! I would love to see a review of the Target up and up brand! We find them quite comparable to the swaddlers mimos but they have terrible reviews online so I wonder if something changed. Personally, I tried to get up to speed when my daughter was very young and had daily diaper strokes. But now that it's much bigger, it's a great idea, I have to try again! Can you make a comparison using the target mark? I just read this one and it was amazing! Of course! I just bought a target diaper package, I can't wait to see how they compare. I have used Kirkland diapers for a long time now; I used them in my son who is now four years old, and my daughter who is almost 15 months old. I started with huggies and once I tried the Kirkland brand, I loved them so much and it was $10 less! I loved the fact that they also had the double grip strip! When Costco initially changed his Kirkland diapers, I found them of the same quality with a different pattern. I had bought two boxes at the beginning of the pandemic since they were on sale. A week ago, I finally bought another box. I just used a diaper from the new box and over the last few months, I feel that they have definitely changed the quality. The diaper felt thinner and also got rid of the double grip strip. I'll see how these diapers are kept and depending on the result, unfortunately I can be changing brands that I'm not really looking forward to, as the price is impressive. Oh no, it's so frustrating when brands change things unexpectedly! A few months ago, I got too hot and I'm about to go out for another box. I'll save some of the old box to compare with the new box. In reference to the topic "no pocket". I found that technically there's a pocket if you put your slap on the waist. I do this before I put it in most of the time. Then it works like a pocket like the huggies. I'm not sure how impermeable it is, but he's caught some content and hasn't had any leak yet. It's a great idea, I never thought of doing that! Thank you for sharing! I found the same thing to be true. The last box of Kirkland diapers I bought doesn't have the second purple strip for the tabs. They look inferior — in about 30 minutes my daughter has a swollen doggie diaper. And diapers seem to take pills and peel outside in a matter of minutes. I've used Kirkland for 2 years almost exclusively, but with the deterioration of quality, I'm going to change to a new brand. I'm sorry to hear that, it's very disappointing!
